Mini Camps at Learning Lab

During most public school holidays, Learning Lab will be holding thematic learning mini camps. Each mini camp day will be centered around a fun topic or theme and students will get an opportunity to gain a great deal of knowledge in that topic through guided investigation and several engaging activities.

Mini Camps will be held on the following public school holidays from January through June (themes will be listed):

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day - 1/21 - No longer available

Lunar New Year - 2/5 - Chinese New Year

Midwinter Recess - 2/18-2/22 - S.T.E.A.M. Learning with Puppets (2 days), Georgia O’Keeffe, penguins, and Alaska

Spring Recess - 4/22-4/26 - Baseball, Mexico, roller coasters, raccoons, ancient Greece

Eid al-Fitr - 6/4 - France

Anniversary Day - 6/6 - Henri Rousseau (French artist)

Clerical Day - 6/11 - Butterflies

Sept. 30–Oct. 1- Rosh Hashanah
Oct. 9 - Yom Kippur
Oct. 14 - Columbus Day -?
Nov. 5 - Election Day
Nov 11 - Veterans Day-?
Jan. 20 - Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day-?
Feb. 17 - 21 Midwinter Recess
Apr. 9 - 17 Spring Recess

Cost: $55 per day ($5/day extra for early drop-off and $10/day extra for late pick-up)

8:00am-9:00am - Early drop-off (draw or browse books from our library)

9:00am - 9:30am - Icebreakers (get to know you games/activities)

9:30am - 10:00am - Introduction to topic and guided investigation through books and the internet

10:00am - 10:30am - Sharing out of findings

10:30am - 10:45am - Snack (Please pack your child a snack and water)

10:45am - 12:00am - Activity 1

12:00pm - 1:00pm - Lunch and board games (Please pack your child a lunch)

1:00pm - 2:00pm - Activity 2

2:00pm - 3:00pm - Activity 3

3:00pm - 5:00pm - Late pick-up (board games and educational computer games)
